Updated: Sep 25

Meticuly had the honor of participating in the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on “Supporting the Use of Domestic Produced Medical Products and Services with Knowledge, Science, Research, and Innovation.” The MOU was signed between the National Health Security Office (NHSO) and Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI) on Friday, August 16, 2024 at the JW Marriott Bangkok. The MOU details the collaboration between the TSRI and the NHSO to promote the research and development of medical products and services that meet quality standards, can be produced domestically, and align with the needs of those covered by the National Health Security.

As a Chulalongkorn University spin-off with a strong foundation in research, Meticuly has been supported by grants from the Health Systems Research Institute (HSRI) and PMUC, both under the Thailand Science Research and Innovation (TSRI). Asst. Prof. Dr. Chedtha Puncreobutr, CTO and Co-founder, showcased Meticuly’s custom-made titanium cranioplasty implant. Meticuly is the first medical device manufacturer in Thailand offering NHSO supported patient specific cranioplasty implant, thereby improving access to international-standard cranial reconstruction for Thai patients. Meticuly’s patient-specific cranial mesh implant is 3D printed from Ti-6Al-4V and has also received US FDA 510(k) clearance.

The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Somsak Thapsutin, Minister of Public Health, and Ms. Supamas Isaraphakdee, Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation. They expressed their congratulations and provided policies to support and promote the use of Thai-produced medical products and services, as well as to encourage research and development by Thai researchers.
